Kennebec River Float Trip (Solon):

The Solon section of the Kennebec river is known for its Brown Trout. This mostly undeveloped, 8 mile stretch of river, runs though beautiful farmland and has a mixture of braided channels, Islands, undercut banks, fallen and submerged structure, slow deep runs, and riffles. This is one of the few places you have a chance of catching brown trout, brook trout, rainbow trout, and landlocked salmon all in one day. In the summer months, when water temps rise (July-Sept), we like to target small mouth bass. They are abundant at this time and quite sizable (very fun on a fly rod).

This section of river is really only accessible by boat.  A 16' drift boat will be the craft of choice. This boat is completely set up for fishing 2 anglers. Depending on the trip, and target species, there will be opportunities to get out and wade fish or fish from shore.

Trip includes drinks, snacks, and a shore lunch! All fishing gear will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Waders may be recommended depending on the trip.

SEASON: May-October

RATE: 1-2 anglers...….. $500
